We're delighted to be invited back to perform at this one-of-a-kind concert series sponsored by the City of Norris and the Powell Clinch Utility District. Take a lawn chair or blanket and a bite to eat, or purchase refreshments from local organizations. This is a beautiful community event full of friends you haven't met yet, little kids, slightly aloof teenagers, friendly dogs, and good music. Charities benefiting include Agape House, Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, Alpha House, The Arc, Blossom Center, Contact Care, Ecumenical Storehouse, Habitat for Humanity, Holiday House, Hope of East Tennessee, SARGE, Tennessee Valley Coalition for the Homeless, and TORCH. We are so excited to be headed back to our old stomping grounds, where we met a million years ago while at graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill. We'll be doing a public concert at the Church of Reconciliation, where we were married in 1989. All are welcome to this concert! We may even be joined by a long-time friend or two. This concert is free but we will pass the hat for donations. Saturday and Sunday we'll be celebrating with others the 50th anniversary of this beautiful church.

The Louie Bluie Music and Arts Festival is a wonderful one-day festival named in honor of Howard “Louie Bluie” Armstrong (1909-2003), the internationally acclaimed string band musician who grew up in LaFollette in the 1920s. He became one of the nation’s finest string band musicians, as well as artist, storyteller, and writer. There will be a kids fun zone, craft village, judged art and quilt show, food court, and of course lots of music and storytelling. Admission is free, though a $5 per person / $10 per family donation is encouraged to support the Campbell Culture Coalition, an all-volunteer nonprofit community arts organization that puts on the festival.
